Community and Retreat Guidelines

Back to website

Effective date: 20 April 2026

Applies to: every guest, staff member and visitor of Bootcamp Wild Atlantic Way, on site in Ballisodare and inside our client portal at https://app.bootcampwildatlanticway.ie.

These Guidelines sit alongside the Terms and the Privacy Policy. They describe how we treat each other during your stay and online, and what we expect from you.

01

Our promise to you

  • A safe, inclusive and respectful environment regardless of age, body type, fitness level, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion or background.
  • Core training sessions led or supervised by a qualified personal trainer, with support adapted to your ability, mobility and confidence.
  • Private en-suite accommodation, thoughtfully prepared meals and transparent communication before, during and after your stay.
  • Clear aftercare resources so the progress you make here can continue at home.

02

Core values

  1. Respect — treat other guests, coaches, hosts, neighbours and the property the way you want to be treated.
  2. Honesty — tell us about injuries, medication, allergies, anxieties and goals. Small details keep you safe.
  3. Effort, not ego — show up, try, rest when needed, celebrate other people's wins.
  4. Consistency over intensity — the goal is habits you keep after the stay, not a single brutal week.
  5. Privacy — what is shared in the group stays in the group.

03

On the training floor

  • Arrive on time, dressed for training, with water.
  • Follow your coach's instructions and the warm-up.
  • Lift, run and push at a level that is challenging for you, not for anyone else.
  • Tell the coach immediately about pain, dizziness or anything unusual.
  • No phone recording of other guests without their permission.
  • Re-rack weights, wipe down equipment and leave the space ready for the next person.

04

Outdoor sessions, walks and hikes

  • Stay with the group and the coach leading the route.
  • Dress for Irish weather: layers, waterproof, supportive footwear.
  • If you struggle, speak up early — we can adapt pace, distance or route.
  • Respect the countryside: no litter, close gates, keep dogs out of stock fields.

05

At the house

  • Quiet hours 22:00–07:00.
  • No smoking or vaping indoors. No recreational drugs on the property.
  • Alcohol is not part of the programme; we ask guests not to drink during the stay.
  • Keep communal spaces tidy. Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen and laundry areas.
  • Report anything broken to a staff member. Accidents happen.

06

Meals, media and portal conduct

Meals are planned around whole foods and your declared dietary needs.

  • Tell us at least 7 days before arrival about allergies, intolerances, religious requirements and foods you genuinely cannot eat.
  • Please do not bring outside food or snacks into communal eating areas without checking first.
  • We may take session and lifestyle photos. If you do not want to appear, tell the coach or host and we will respect it.
  • Do not post photos or videos of other guests on social media without their explicit consent.
  • Progress photos uploaded to the portal are private, visible only to you and the coaching team, and deleted on request.

Inside the portal, in WhatsApp groups and in any other channel we use:

  • Be kind, patient and constructive.
  • Do not share content that is abusive, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, threatening, or promotes self-harm.
  • Do not spam, advertise other services, or scrape data.
  • Do not share login details, and log out on shared devices.

Violations may lead to warnings, content removal, portal suspension or removal from the programme without refund.

07

Safeguarding, inclusion and guests with specific needs

If you are struggling mentally or emotionally, tell a coach or host. You will be heard, not judged. In an emergency dial 112 or 999 in Ireland. The nearest hospital is Sligo University Hospital.

We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, sexual misconduct, hate speech or threats on site or online. Anyone acting this way will be asked to leave without refund and, where relevant, reported to An Garda Síochána.

Tell us in advance if you need:

  • Ground-floor accommodation or step-free access.
  • Adapted training for previous injury, pregnancy, post-surgery, or chronic condition.
  • Medication storage or reminders.
  • Religious observance accommodations.

We will do our best to meet reasonable requests within the constraints of the venue and programme.

08

Environment, enforcement and feedback

Sligo and the Wild Atlantic Way are beautiful because people look after them. Please take rubbish and recycling to the correct bins, use water and energy responsibly, and be considerate to our neighbours.

Staff may, without refund:

  • Issue a verbal or written warning.
  • Remove you from a specific session or outing.
  • Restrict portal access.
  • End the stay and arrange departure.

Serious issues are reported to An Garda Síochána or the relevant authority. We welcome feedback at any time in person, through the portal's messages section, or by email to bootcampwaw@gmail.com.

The current version is always published at https://bootcampwildatlanticway.ie/guidelines. Any updates take effect from the date shown on this page.
